Goal: Education & Awareness Building
The IZI Green Kindergarten / School Program is an experience-based sustainability education program that offers practical, instantly applicable attitude formation for kindergartens and schools. The program is implemented with funding from municipalities or companies, allowing it to reach wider communities.
The sessions are not theoretical lectures but experiences based on action: children learn about the workings of nature and the basics of a sustainable lifestyle through their own experiences. The program can be flexibly shaped: it can be implemented as a multi-month (e.g., 12-month) process, or even as one-time, intensive occasions.
The program takes place in two main locations: in the form of outsourced sessions directly in kindergartens and schools, and on field occasions in the Mandala Education Garden, where children can experience what they have learned in a real environment.
Topics include soil life and composting, biodiversity and pollinators, water retention and the water cycle, local food and seasons, and waste reduction. Learning happens through games, observation, and joint creation, so children not only understand but also use the acquired knowledge.
The sessions are led by young facilitators alongside professional mentoring, bringing fresh, inspiring dynamics to the institutions while providing a real learning and responsibility-taking opportunity for the youth.
The goal of the program is to integrate simple yet lasting "green habits" into everyday life – not only at the level of children but also institutions and families. Alongside the experiences, tangible results remain: methodological tools, tested practices, and a strengthening community mindset.
